Four Guyz in Dinner Jackets Return to Weill Center

Posted: January 25, 2010

Four Guyz in Dinner Jackets will bring their finger-snappin’, hip-shakin’ revue of the enduring “guy group” music of the 1950s and 1960s back to the Stefanie H. Weill Center for the Performing Arts in Sheboygan on Friday night, Feb. 19.

The Four Guyz retro-romp through the past takes you back to the days of dances in the gym and snuggling at the drive-in. Numbers like “Silhouettes”, “Only You”, “The Great Pretender”, “Sixteen Candles,” “Sh’Boom”, “Blue Moon,” “At The Hop,” “Come Go With Me,” and “Graduation Day” will fill your night with “Moments to Remember.”

The show is again being sponsored by Sheboygan Athletic Club after it was extremely well-received last year.

Cost for the show is $25 for preferred seating and $15 for general admission seating. The preferred seating ticket includes two beverage drink tickets, one for use at the Weill Center during for the pre-show reception and another for use at Highland House after the show where Four Guyz fans will gather to the sounds recorded oldies but goodies.

The show gets under way at 7:30 p.m. Weill Center doors will open at 6:30.

Tickets are available by writing Sheboygan Athletic Club, P.O. Box 32, Sheboygan, WI 53082-0032. Checks and return addresses must be included. Ticket orders received by Feb. 10 to ensure time for reply mail. Orders received after that will be held for pick-up at the Weill Center on the night of the show. Tickets are also available at the Weill Center ticket office.

Based in Milwaukee, the Four Guyz are Reginald T. Kurschner, Don Lobacz, Tommy Lueck and Aaron Schmidt. All, despite their tender age, have substantial theater credits.

Kurschner’s credits include Harlequin in “Triumph of Love at the Skylight Opera Theatre, Will Parker in “Oklahoma!” with Milwaukee Musical Theater, and Emory in “The Boys in the Band” with Bialystock and Bloom.

Lobacz’ credits include the Baker in “Into the Woods,” the Lover-Magician in “Carnival” and the featured performer in “The World Goes Round” at the Broadway Baby Theatre.

Lueck’s credits include Seymour in “Little Shop of Horrors,” Puck in Shakespeare’s “A Midsummer Night’s Dream,” and Joseph in “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.” He is also the front man vocalist in Swing Noveau, voted Milwaukee’s best swing Big Band, and with Lobacz are the two Boys in BoyGirlBoyGirl, reviewed as Milwaukee’s own Manhattan Transfer.

On stage since he was a child, Schmidt has most recently focused on backstage work as a lighting and sound designer. He appeared in “Anything Goes” and “The Music Man” with Iowa State University.

The Four Guyz are supported by drums, bass and piano.
