A’s launching new scoreboard project

Posted: January 21, 2013

The next step in the Wildwood Baseball Park renovation project became a reality when Larry’s Distributing signed on to a $26,100.00 sponsorship package

The Sheboygan Athletic Club, which built the Wildwood grandstand, press box/restroom facilities and doubled the size of the concessions stand and most recently built new dugouts, erected safety netting and screening, and enlarged the capacity with field level seating has two major projects remaining: a new scoreboard and new lighting.

The Larry’s Distributing sponsorship along with previous sponsorships by Sargento Foods, Inc., and Legend Larry’s Wings and Things, enables the club to go ahead with the scoreboard.

“New lighting is our priority project, but we need to do the scoreboard first because it is the potential revenue source that will make the lights a reality,” Athletic Club president Scott Stangel said.

There is room on the scoreboard for six major sponsors and three have been procured.

Major sponsor panels are back lit and surround the actual information board and a message panel. The message panel and two of the sponsor panels measure roughly six feet by 12 feet and the other four sponsor panels measure three feet by nine feet.

The new scoreboard will stand in right field, a little closer to the right field line than the current board.
