Menasha Takes Game One of Championship Series

Posted: August 7, 2015

Barring weather interference, the Sheboygan A’s and the Menasha MACs
are scheduled to meet in game two of the Northeastern Wisconsin Baseball League’s
championship best of three series in Sheboygan tonight.

Tonight’s game took on win-or-else proportions for the A’s after the MACs
took a 4-1 victory in Game one last night
in Menasha. The MACs scored single runs in each of the first two innings while
the A’s didn’t manage a base hit until the fourth when they got on the
scoreboard.

Harry Steldt got hit by a pitch, after a fly out Blake Fleischman and
Carter Amundsen both singled with Amundsen getting the RBI.

The A’s gave the run back quickly as another infield error led to Menasha’s
third run and the MACs
added a fourth in the seventh. The A’s left two men in scoring position in the
eighth and loaded the bases with nobody out in the ninth, but came away dry.

The A’s collected eight hits off
the talented Menasha arms of Aaron Langdon and Jack Taschner who always
seemed able to get the third out when the A‘s had something going.  Brandon Winfield took the loss for the A’s despite some shaky defense. The Macs also had eight hits last night.

Gametime tonight is 7:30 p.m.
