WEST BEND – The Sheboygan A’s couldn’t hold a pair of leads and lost, 7-6, to the West Bend 7UP in the semifinals of the Wisconsin Amateur Baseball Classic on Sunday afternoon.

West Bend rallied for three runs in the sixth to tie the score and then won the game with a run in the bottom of the seventh.

Singles by Dylan Detert, Trevor Cho, Wyatt Olson and Mitch Sutton gave the A’s a 2-0 lead in the first inning, but West Bend moved in front in the fourth, 3-2.

A three-run home run by Olson followed by a solo shot by Cole Heili in the fifth put Sheboygan back on top, 6-3.

The A’s reached the semifinals by winning their pool, beating Plymouth (5-2), Clyman (6-1) and the Milwaukee Beavers (5-3) on Friday and Saturday.

Weston Nelson got the win over Plymouth, while Sutton, Harry Steldt and Mitch McConnel each had two hits.

Brandon Winfield struck out eight and allowed only a run in the seventh inning in the win over Clyman, while Taylor Grimm belted a three-run home run and Olson had two hits in the victory.

Against the Milwaukee Beavers, Adam Ryan bounced back after giving up three first-inning runs to go the distance, while Cho, Olson, Sutton and Nelson each had two hits.
