A’s Cruise Past Oshkosh 14-4

Posted: July 21, 2016

The totals in the runs, hits and errors columns rose dramatically as Wednesday night’s game progressed, mostly to the benefit of the Sheboygan A’s. The A’s cruised to a 14-4 victory over the Oshkosh Giants before a good crowd at Wildwood Park Wednesday night.

A’s pitchers Ben Stanczyk and Mitch Gardner combined to limit Oshkosh to five hits and didn’t allow an earned run.

The A’s meanwhile banged up Oshkosh pitching for 17 hits – all singles except for Taylor Grimm’s home run. Wyatt Olson, Adam Ryan and Mitch Sutton all had three hits for the A’s.

The club is scheduled to play at Appleton Thursday night and will entertain Manitowoc Friday night in  Bud Light night. A big weekend is ahead for the A’s who host Addison in a  four game series. Saturday’s doubleheader begins at 5 PM, Sunday’s at 1 PM. Mike Johnson will be inducted into the A’s Hall of Fame between games Saturday night, and between games on Sunday afternoon the A’s 1991 championship team will be introduced.

Sunday is Retro Day with the A’s wearing throwback uniforms. Appropriately, Mike Koepke’s Model T Ford will bring out the game ball.

The Sheboygan A's are members of the Wisconsin State League and Northeastern Wisconsin Baseball League. The A's have helped develop more than 43 players that have reached professional baseball, including 2002 World Series Champion Jarrod Washburn (Anaheim Angels). All Sheboygan A's home games are played at Wildwood Baseball Park in Sheboygan. Connect with the A's on FacebookTwitterInstagram and YouTube.
