A’s Gearing Up for Wisconsin State League Invitational Tournament

Posted: August 11, 2016

The Sheboygan A’s are set to play host for the Wisconsin State League Invitational Tournament

Since the league currently does not have a playoff system, due to the distance teams might have to travel, the league decieded to adpot a end of the year tournament to help fill the void.

For the inaugural run, the tournament for 2016 will consist of only three teams. The goal of the tournament is to first have as many WSL teams participate as possible, then fill remaining spots with interested teams for differnet leagues.

This year’s teams include the A’s, Kenosha Kings and West Allis Nationals from the WSL. The Chicago Rippers were slated to be in the tournament, but due to rescheduling of leauge games in their league, they are no longer able to be a participant.

All tournament games will be seven innings. All other rules will be goverend by the WSL rule book.

The tournament format will be a round robin, where all teams will play eachother once. The top two teams after roudn robin play will meet for the tournament championship. If tie-breakers are needed to determine who advances to the championship, the team with the fewest runs alloweed will win out.

The tournament schedule is:
