Sheboygan A’s 2017 Roster Announced

SHEBOYGAN, WI – The Sheboygan A’s have announced a tentative roster for the 2017 season.
Seventeen players on the initial roster who have been A’s in the past return to the team in 2017. The A’s are also welcome in thirteen new players to the organization.
The roster blends experience with youth this season, and the youth will be needed to step up right away and fill some big holes in the lineup. Some of the 2016 leaders who are unlikely to be back are Wyatt Olson (Niagara University), Cole and Nate Heili (UW-Milwaukee and UW-La Crosse), Trevor Cho (St. Cloud State), Dylan Detert (UW-Milwaukee), Tyler Agard (Davidson), TD Walker (Jacksonville), Adam Ryan and Brandon Winfield (Marian University alums).
The A’s are expecting a veteran pitching core of Taylor Schwarz, Eric Schmitz and Derek Loomans to help guide the team early on. In addition, the A’s staff should be bolstered by the expected return of Cody Griebling, a former professional pitcher in the Frontier League. This would be Griebling’s third different stint with the team. He spent last season with West Allis in the Wisconsin State League.
On offense, the A’s do return veteran Harry Steldt, who has anchored the middle of the lineup for six seasons. He will be accompanied by fellow returnees Taylor Grimm, Mitch Sutton, Hunter Berry, Brad Young and Ben Gordon.

The A’s will begin the 2017 season at home against Northeastern Wisconsin League newcomer Marinette on Saturday, May 27. Opening Day is sponsored by CITGO, and Pat McCurdy will be performing a pregame concert beginning at NOON. Miss Wisconsin will also be in attendance, and CITGO will be giving away prizes to fans all game long.
Full season, 10-pack, and group ticket packages are currently available for the 2017 season. Tickets are available online. Groups of 10 or more may email the club for group options.
The Sheboygan A's are members of the Wisconsin State League and Northeastern Wisconsin Baseball League. The A's have helped develop more than 43 players that have reached professional baseball, including 2002 World Series Champion Jarrod Washburn (Anaheim Angels).
