A’s hold on to win against the Legends

APPLETON, WI- Friday’s game against the Appleton Legends ends in a 7-5 win for the A’s. The Sheboygan A’s are now 5-0 on the season.

Going into the sixth inning the A’s and Legends were tied 1-1.
The A’s were able to score three more runs to make their lead 4-1 in the sixth.

The Legends came back to tie the game 4-4 in the seventh inning.

In the eighth inning Hunter Berry hit a triple, while Taylor Grim and Jake Arens hit doubles, which gave the A’s a 7-4 lead.

The game was slow to start but remained a close battle up until the end.

The Legends put up a fight in the bottom of the ninth but were only able to add one run making the final score 7-5.

Eric Schmitz pitched most of the game, with John VanderPloeg coming in during the seventh inning and Weston Nelson in the ninth.

The A’s next game will be Monday in Menasha against the Menasha Macs.

The Sheboygan A's are members of the Wisconsin State League and Northeastern Wisconsin Baseball League. The A's have helped develop more than 43 players that have reached professional baseball, including 2002 World Series Champion Jarrod Washburn (Anaheim Angels).
