A’s Announce Schedule Changes

Posted: May 16, 2010

The loss of a major sponsor has forced the Little Chute franchise to drop out of the Northeastern Wisconsin Baseball League. Little Chute will still play a limited number of games in attempt to keep the team going

Little Chute’s decision has caused the other league franchises to adjust their schedules.

The A’s have announced two changes:
On Friday, May 28, the A’s will be hosting the Branch Blaze in a 7:30 p.m., game rather than Little Chute. On Tuesday, Aug. 3, the A’s will travel to Menasha for a 7:15 p.m. game rather than to Little Chute.

Little Chute’s dropping out has actually caused an increase in games for the league. When the league had eight teams it decided to play each team three times for a 21 game schedule. With Little Chute out, the league has elected to play each team four times for a 24-game schedule. The A’s had each team, except Menasha, scheduled four times anyway, planning to use the fourth game as either a rain make-up date or an exhibition game. So the affect on the city club was minimal.

The A’s want to remind their fans that tickets are now on sale for the two All-Star games at Wildwood Baseball Park this summer – the July 9 Northeastern Wisconsin League/Southeastern Wisconsin League game and the big July 26 Military Appreciation Night game against the US Military All-Stars. Adult admission is $3 for the League All-Star game and $5 for the Military All-Star Game. Children are always $1. Fans should be aware that those two games, along with the July 15 Greenbush Dead Citys historic baseball demonstration and game, are included in the A’s season ticket package. Season tickets are $30 for general admission, $40 grandstand and $50 box seats.

All-star and season tickets can be ordered by writing the Sheboygan Athletic Club, P.O. Box 32, Sheboygan, WI 53082-0032. Checks should be made payable to Sheboygan Athletic Club.

The club opens on Thursday, May 27, against the Two Rivers Polar Bears.
