Dodgers Rake A’s; Schedule, Pitcher Shortage Taking Toll

Posted: July 26, 2017

DE PERE, WI- Too proud to cry foul, the tired, beat up and under manned Sheboygan A’s will try to put Tuesday nights nightmare behind them and start fresh tonight against the West Allis Nationals.

It is Wing Wednesday and Christmas in July with a special appearance by Santa Claus. Game time is 7:30.

The lack of pitching depth caught up with the A’s last night as the De Pere Dodgers roared to 12-7 and 13-0 victories. Mark Wanner’s 3-run home run in the second inning of the first game stood as the night’s highlight for the A’s.

The A’s scored four runs in the seventh inning of the first game desperately trying to make-up the deficit, but the Dodgers lead was just too massive.

In game two, the A’s were unable to get their bats going and suffered a shutout. Mitch Sutton went 2-for-2 at the plate to lead the A’s offensively.

Both games were a struggle for the A’s, and on top of the team losing its seventh straight game, the club learned that it had lost its fourth pitcher to the Northwoods League.

The A’s are now 16-12 in the Wisconsin State League and need to go on a win streak in order to even get a glimpse of second place
