A’s Edge Oshkosh Giants

SHEBOYGAN, WI- 99 times out of 100, two words determine the outcome of a baseball game.

Quality pitching.

The Sheboygan A’s had quality pitching Thursday night in their 4-2 win over Oshkosh. Taylor Schwarz, Kyle Moyer and Eric Schmitz combined to hold the Oshkosh Giants to six hits and only two first inning runs. 

Mitch Sutton and Adam Ryan hit back-to-back doubles with Ryan knocking in two runs in the 8th inning to break a 2-2 tie to give the A’s their 17th win in Wisconsin State League play. 

Ben Gordon went 3-for-3 and Josh Moses had 2 hits. 

Schwarz worked the first five innings and gave up two runs on three hits in the 1st inning. Oshkosh didn’t score after that. Schmitz gave up one hit in the last three innings.  

The A’s host Manitowoc Friday night in their annual Strike Out Cancer Night game.  First pitch is 7:30.  

The Sheboygan A's are members of the Wisconsin State League and Northeastern Wisconsin Baseball League. The A's have helped develop more than 43 players that have reached professional baseball, including 2002 World Series Champion Jarrod Washburn (Anaheim Angels).
