A’s Win; 5-run 1st Too Much for Manitowoc

SHEBOYGAN, WI- Harry Steldt and Jake Arens led off the game with back-to-back back doubles as the Sheboygan A’s scored five first inning runs and went on to beat the Manitowoc Bandits, 9-2, Friday night.

The Bandits actually took an early lead in the first inning, making the score 1-0, but the A’s answered with five runs of their own to take the lead for good.

Austin Elsing threw a 4-hitter for the win. Bryce Braspennickx took the loss for the Bandits.

On the offensive side of things, Josh Moses led the A‘s with two singles and a 2-run home run while Steldt had a pair of doubles.

The win put the A’s at 29-20 going into today’s doubleheader at Marinette. The results of today’s games and Monday’s regular season finale at Green Bay will determine the final standings and the playoff seedings.

The Sheboygan A's are members of the Wisconsin State League and Northeastern Wisconsin Baseball League. The A's have helped develop more than 43 players that have reached professional baseball, including 2002 World Series Champion Jarrod Washburn (Anaheim Angels).
