Light-hitting causes A’s to loose doubleheader

Posted: July 30, 2017

MARINETTE, WI- The Sheboygan A’s showed up at Marinette, but they left their game back in Sheboygan.

The A’s scored but one run in the doubleheader, made a number of offensive and defensive miscues and dropped two games to the Redbirds, 2-0 and 2-1.

These losses for the A’s came at an important time for the team and have some consequences.

With their eight league losses, the A’s chances at home field advantage for the Northeastern Wisconsin League playoffs is minimal. They also drop to fourth place in the league, with limited time to move-up in the rankings. The A’s wrap up NEWBL play at Green Bay Monday night.

The Sheboygan A's are members of the Wisconsin State League and Northeastern Wisconsin Baseball League. The A's have helped develop more than 43 players that have reached professional baseball, including 2002 World Series Champion Jarrod Washburn (Anaheim Angels). All Sheboygan A's home games are played at Wildwood Baseball Park in Sheboygan. Connect with the A's on FacebookTwitterInstagram and YouTube.
