Wanner’s Walkoff Gives A’s Victory Over Kenosha; Tonight’s Game Postponed

The Sheboygan A’s took Saturday’s first game in dramatic fashion, with a 7-6 walk-off victory over Kenosha. The game was tied at six in the bottom of the eighth when Mark Wanner homered off of Ty Peccioli to seal the victory.

Tonight’s second game, scheduled for 7 PM is being postponed due to field conditions due to this afternoon’s storms. The A’s will now play Sussex at 11:30 AM Sunday morning at Wildwood Park.

Kenosha Kings took an early lead, scoring solo runs in each of the first four innings to take a 4-0 lead.

Sheboygan finally go going in the fourth, plating six runs on hits by Wanner, Grant Kosanke and Taylor Grimm

John VanderPloeg earned the win for the A’s in relief. He pitched two-thirds of an inning, giving up zero runs, zero hits, and walking zero. 

Josh Olsen started the game for the A’s (WSL. He tossed four and two-thirds innings, surrendering six runs, eight hits, and striking out two.

The Sheboygan A's are members of the Wisconsin State League and Northeastern Wisconsin Baseball League. The A's have helped develop more than 43 players that have reached professional baseball, including 2002 World Series Champion Jarrod Washburn (Anaheim Angels).
