Oshkosh, WI – The Oshkosh Giants watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in an 18-5 loss to the A’s on Thursday.

The A’s banged out 14 hits in seven innings, which included two big run producing innings in the first and seventh, totaling 16 of the 18 runs the A’s would score.

Five A’s had multi-hit games, led by TD Walker who was 3-3 at the plate, and reached base all six times he made a plate appearance, and batted in four runs.

Travis Slywka, Harry Steldt, Jake Arens and Ross Krist all chipped in two hits apiece. Both of Slywka’s hits were doubles.

Eric Schmitz pitched 5.2 innings, striking out four. Ben Folger and Austin Fox each pitched two-thirds of an inning to finish the night.

The A’s will now face their toughest test of the season. The A’s head to Illinois for a four-game weekend series against the perennial Wisconsin State League champion Lombard Orioles. Saturday’s doubleheader begins at 5 PM, and Sunday’s at 1 PM at Madison Meadows Park.
