Macs Win on Walk Off in 10th

Posted: July 24, 2018

The Sheboygan A’s took on a tough assignment Wednesday night and gave it a good run, but in the end, the veteran Menasha Macs took a giant step toward another Northeastern Wisconsin League championship with a 2-1, 10-inning win over the A’s in Menasha.

Menasha won it on Eric Hietpas’ bases-loaded single in the bottom of the 10th.

Starting pitchers Austin Fox of the A’s and ex-big leaguer (and former A) Jack Taschner were horn-locked until Menasha scored a run on Adam Grambow’s base hit in the sixth.

The A’s tied it when Travis Slywka walked with the bases loaded in the ninth. It stayed that way until Hietpas’ heroics in the 10th.

Now 28-20 for the season and 8-6 in the NEWBL, the A’s travel to Green Bay for another NEWBL game Wednesday night
