A’s Open WABC with 2-0 Win

Posted: June 29, 2019

The Sheboygan A’s winning ways continued.

The A’s were victorious in their 2019 Wisconsin Amateur Baseball Classic opener, winning 2-0 over the Milwaukee Aztec Jaguars Friday night at Wildwood.

Andrew Nuanes kept the Jaguars offense in check all night, with the first time a runner reaching third base coming in the final frame.

Elliot Danhoff came on with one out and runners on second and third in the seventh to get the final two outs and preserve the victory.

on the flip-side, the A’s put runners as far as third base every inning during the contest, but couldn’t get timely hitting to drive in the runs. The A’s got both of their runs in the fifth inning to take their 2-0 lead that they would keep.

Due to rain washing out all tournament games in West Bend Friday, the A’s tournament schedule has changed.

It is no longer pool play, but has been changed to a bracket style play. The A’s scheduled NOON game for Saturday has been removed. The A’s will now face the Kewaskum A’s at 7:30 PM at Wildwood Park in Sheboygan.

The Sheboygan A’s are members of the Wisconsin State League and Northeastern Wisconsin Baseball League. The A’s have helped develop more than 41 players that have reached professional baseball, including 2002 World Series Champion Jarrod Washburn (Anaheim Angels). All Sheboygan A’s home games are played at Wildwood Baseball Park in Sheboygan. Connect with the A’s on FacebookTwitterInstagram and YouTube.
