A’s Hang On to Defeat Green Bay

Posted: July 2, 2019

Cole Miklavcic went 4-for-5 and Eric Schmitz pitched seven shutout innings to pace the Sheboygan A’s to a 5-3 Northeastern Wisconsin League victory over the Green Bay Storm in Green Bay Monday night.

The win puts the A’s at 3-1 in the NEWBL, one-half game behind Appleton. They are 16-9-1 overall. The club hosts Manitowoc tonight at Wildwood Park. First pitch is at 7:30.

The A’s built up a 5-0 lead but had to stave off a furious 9th inning rally to hang on to the win. Green Green Bay had the tying runs on base and the lead run at the plate but A’s reliever Elliott Danhoff ended the game with a strikeout.
