Fukuhara Signs Pro Contract

Almost as quickly as he joined the club, he left.
Taisei Fukuhara, who joined the A’s last week after being released from the Milwaukee Milkmen of the American Association of Independent Professional Baseball due simply to language barrier issues, signed with the Windy City ThunderBolts of the independent Frontier League.
The A’s knew Fukuhara’s stay with the club would be short, as Fukuhara is considered a good pro prospect. Fukuhara needed a place to play to stay sharp has he awaited his next pro contract. The A’s welcomed Fukuhara to the club for as long as he needed.
In his brief stint with the A’s, Fukuhara showed why he’s being recruited at the next level, including by the Milwaukee Brewers, who sent scouts to Sheboygan to watch him play.
In three games, he hit .455, with his first at-bat being the most memorable – a no doubt home run to deep center field. He also walked once and stole four bases.

Although Fukuhara is now in independent professional baseball, it is expected he will sign an affiliated pro contract in the near future.
The Sheboygan A's are members of the Wisconsin State League and Northeastern Wisconsin Baseball League. The A's have helped develop more than 43 players that have reached professional baseball, including 2002 World Series Champion Jarrod Washburn (Anaheim Angels).
