A’s Tie, Lose in NEWBL Round Robin

Posted: August 8, 2019

Seven innings or no new inning starts after an hour and 50 minutes.

Those were the ground rules of the Northeastern Wisconsin League’s season-ending Round Robin Tournament. The Sheboygan A’s came out of Tuesday’s opening round with a tie and a loss.

Menasha scored a run in the final 7th inning to salvage a 4-4 tie in the first game. That came after back-to-back doubles by Harry Steldt and Alex Dee had given the A’s a 4-3 lead in the top of the seventh.

Appleton scored four runs the first inning and added six more in the third to cruise to an 11-4 win in the second game.

The A’s wrap up season Friday at Kimberly with a 6:30 PM game against Kewaskum.
