Fletcher Dallas came off the bench and hit a pair of 3-run home runs and 2-run double to lead the Sheboygan A’s to a 16-1 5-inning mercy-rule win over the Kenosha Kings in game two of their doubleheader Saturday.
Kenosha won the first game 3-0 to bring the club’s losing streak to four before the game two victory.
Now 4-6 overall and 2-2 in the Wisconsin State League, the A’s and the Kings tangle again Sunday in another doubleheader at Simmons Field in Kenosha. Kenosha is 2-5 in league play.
While the A’s were knocking the ball all over the lot, the Kings were stymied by Eric Schmitz who allowed only five hits and one unearned run while striking out nine. He is 2-0 for the season.
When Josh Moses had to leave the game after rolling an ankle, Dallas entered as a pinch-runner and filled Moses’ DH role in a big way, belting 3-run home runs in the second and third innings and adding a 2-run double in the fourth. Nate Ebersole was 3-for-3 with a double.
The outburst came after the A’s managed only two hits off Kenosha’s Tom Conzimeus in the first game.
Following Sunday's doubleheader in Kenosha, the A’s are home Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday this week. The 2020 season is presented by Meijer.
